no one knows what position rumsfeld has taken other than report i heard he supports the adm and president and then went on vacation. Meyers and other chiefs of staff have given their ask opinion. we shall see if anymore light comes out at 2:30pm press meeting.. but Rumsfeld usually refuses to discuss matters between him and president.

I think your comparison misses a key distinction. There is a difference between having only yes-men, who offer no dissenting input, and entertaining the dissent of one's administration but expecting dissenters to get in line once the dissent has been heard.
