"Dan Rather will leave the "CBS Evening News" on March 9, the network said Tuesday, just months after Rather's use of questionable documents in a report critical of President Bush's National Guard service."

Ted, I am the one who has had the more open mind......mainly because I was forced to.

You're still acting as if you're being dragged kicking and screaming into this. That's not evidence of an open mind; in fact, quite the opposite.

Fine. My mind isn't open. That doesn't change the fact that many of the choices made over the past 4 years have been wrong.

If you dragged a misbehaving student into detention, do you think that student now has an "open mind" about his circumstances?

But I am not a misbehaving student. I disagreed with the Iraqi war and I did not believe it would go easily. After shock and awe, I was surprised and was prepared to admit I was wrong......and said so publicly on these threads. However, since then, time has proven my original position to be correct.

Shockingly, however, that has not changed the position of the Bush or his supporters. They still insist that its right. Now that is just plain stupid......and please don't respond that we have no choice. There are always choices in every situation. However, the truth is, in your heart of hearts, you all want to make a democratic Iraq happen to prove your point. Not only is it foolish but confounds all my understanding of human behavior throughout history. If the cavemen thought like you all, they would still be rubbing two feathers together in order to make a fire.

For those of us who were dragged kicking and screaming into this war, this denial approach to the current situation in Iraq is adding insult to injury. I am sure you don't understand that POV so I will leave it there!
