LOLOLOLISSIMO!! This is one of the most amazing pieces of revisionist history I've ever seen.

Ruppert chose not to continue as the target of a smear campaign and email onslaught he was enduring SUBVERSIVELY by the Elgindy brigade on SI. After Ruppert caved in, Jeff Mitchell posted Rupperts retraction like it was something he simply came upon while reading the paper over his coffee that morning.

The truth--which is preserved on the RB GENI board--is that our little Puggle, who was at that time sucking up to Ruppert, told Ruppert that Elgindy was a supporter of Khashoggi and GENI. That was, of course, a blatant lie. Ruppert was dumb enough not to check it out, and went to press. He boasted that if there was any error of fact in his article, he'd pay $1000 to the person who found the mistake and could prove it. Tony applied, and collected the $1000.

We may imagine that Ruppert took the Puggle off his Christmas card list. Dobry is the most astonishing liar.
