If you find any non-partisan papers, I'd be interested to read it too. There was an article in one of the Israeli newspapers a couple of weeks ago in which a poli-sci prof pointed out the unlikeliness of an attack initiated by Iran (in part due to historical track record), but I can't find it now. If you look at history, the last time Iran initiated an invasion against another country was more than 300 years ago. This is hell of a lot longer than can be said for most nations.
