James,

Re: the Zionists really did make the land flower and grow, and I doubt had it not been for their return we would still see a barren desert.

Ummm, do you mean aside from all the Palestinian olive and citrus groves and truck farms and such that the Israelis stole?

I find it hard to come to grips with the enduring success of Israeli propaganda. For example, the fantasy that the Israelis were moving into barren lands still has a grip on the naive here in the U.S.

Unlike some, I find reading and/or interpreting the various permutations of that fairy tale called the Bible to be an utter waste of time. A real student of the Middle East is well advised to read the history of money, power, exploitation and mesmerization as to reading about the fantasies called religion.

Remember, the history of the Jews and their nemeses in the Middle East is much better understood as a commercial, tribal and power-politics story than as any of the several competing versions of the "one true God" fairy tale. What a silly distraction that is.

James > What actually happened was that the interpretation of the prophesies concerning the End Times was changed by Scoefield and the Oxford University

I'm pleased that you verify the point I made -- although, obviously, I'm not pleased to learn, as a fact, that the Bible has been "fiddled" to suit the nefarious purposes of those who have "fiddled" it.

> For all this false interpretation, the Israelites must once again return to the Holy Land to usher in the return of Christ.

a) This seems like a contradiction in that why should Jesus bless those who twist his words?
b) Even if the prophesy is true, who can really say when it will happen?

> as one who was taught this all of my life, I really wanted this to be true,

With all due respect, many things that humans believe and teach are not correct. For example, and until quite recently, people believed that the earth was flat and was also that it is the center of the universe. Indeed, at the time of Jesus, that is what they did believe.

> Zionists really did make the land flower and grow, and I doubt had it not been for their return we would still see a barren desert.

Yes, you have mentioned that before but have you seen what has happened in Saudi Arabia and the Persian Gulf countries like Dubai? So it seems that, with a bit of money and modern technology, one can really work wonders.

> The Lord appears to have blessed them, in the face of overwhelming odds, although it has been their blessing and the rest of the world's curse, imo

Actually, I think they have been cursed too, and I'm not wishing it on them. Peace has eluded them -- and will continue to do so. One cannot find peace through dishonesty, anger, hate, revenge and perpetual war. There is no solution which will please them, particularly the right-wingers and the Muslim fanatics. As far as the rest of the world is concerned, I think that Israel, and the terrorism associated with it, has been a curse particularly on the US. To most other countries, besides the Muslim ones of course, Israel is not all that important.
