You're laboring under a misconception--about 36 countries are helping us in Iraq INCLUDING one of the world's major powers, the UK. France refused to give U.S. fly-over permission when it was necessary to bomb Libya, after Ghdaffi killed U.S. soldiers at a cafe in Germany. American lives were lost as a result that would've been saved, if they were permitted to take the most direct route. Wasn't it a French CO who directed UN forces in Somalia, which resulted in many American lives lost as well? Frenchmen should stick to their wine & cheesemaking...warfare is not their strong suit. The Somalia incident taught the Pentagon & WH to never again permit foreign command of U.S. forces.

France is vying to become a stronger voice in the EU by constantly trying to thwart U.S. policy. Those yapping poodles (led by pompous Chirac) merely become more clownish to Americans with each of their childish temper tantrums.
Germany is more cooperative in recent mos. France alone acts in a prima donna fashion...evidently Chirac is making some sort of power play.
