Shields is right, but he's only now figuring this out? Democrats excommunicated their religious folk a long time ago. Remember when their most devoted 'movement' people were Catholic clergy? Some may have gone a little overboard, like the Berrigan brothers and other priests and nuns involved in the anti-nuke movement. But no one doubted their dedication to purpose. And there was Cesar Chavez, who led his people under the banner of Our Lady of Guadalupe. I don't think a present day Democrat would put up with THAT imagery....
