interesting >>> and by certain degree, Russian, to decide who has won the election <<<

Wonder more so why is China meddle in Taiwan ? and not let the Taiwan chose it's own destiny - definitely not acting in accordance with your statement

Also wonder if you really know that Ukraine has it's own distinct language and heritage and for centuries was divided / tear apart between Poland and Russia and for short period by the Tatars who have no country as of today - and Tatars are not exactly Mongols even that many came from that region.

Did you know that between 650 to arouns 1150 A.D on the land that is now Ukraine was the Khazar Kingdom? who was established between Romania to the Caspian Sea to the Caucasus Mountains and what is now northern border of Ukraine ? only to be conquerd by Russian Slavs and later Poland who destroyed that Kingdom.

The Khazar empire fell when Sviatoslav, duke of Kiev of the Volga Slavs/Bulgars , defeated its army in 965.

Khazaria, which was located in eastern Europe and flourished as an independent state from about 650 to 1016. As a major world power, Khazaria enjoyed diplomatic and trade relations with many peoples and nations (including the Byzantines, Alans, Magyars, and Slavs) and changed the course of medieval history in many ways.

Khazarian population embraced the Jewish religion. After their conversion, the Khazars were ruled by a succession of Jewish kings and began to adopt the hallmarks of Jewish civilization, including the Torah and Talmud, the Hebrew script, and the observance of Jewish holidays. A portion of the empire's population adopted Christianity like the Chozaks and Islam.

During the 8th Century the Rus came coursing down the great rivers - the Dnieper, the Don and the Volga - the eastern branch of the Vikings. They were known as the VARANCIANS, or the RUS. Like other Vikings, the Rus were bold adventurers and fierce fighters, but when they tangled with the Khazars, the Rus often ended up paying tribute.

In 862 a Rus leader named Rurik founded the city of Novgorod, and the RUSSIAN NATION was born. The Rus Vikings settled among the Slavonic tribes under Khazar domination, and the struggle between Vikings and Khazars changed in character. It became a struggle by the emerging nation of Russia for independence from Khazars.

Over a century after the founding of Russia's first city, another momentous event took place. Russia's leader, Prince Vladimir of Kiev, accepted baptism as a Christian in the year 989. He actively promoted Christianity in Russia, and his memory is revered by Russians today as 'Saint Vladimir;' and so a thousand years ago Russia's tradition as a Christian nation began.

Vladimir's conversion also brought Russia into alliance with Byzantium. The Byzantine rulers had always feared the Khazars, and the Russians were still struggling. And so in the year 1016, combined Russian and Byzantine forces attacked the Khazar kingdom. The Khazar kingdom was shattered, and the kingdom of the Khazars fell into decline.
