So being alone with unfriendlies approaching (unarmed you should know) gives him the right to butcher himself a 6 pack? Of course not. What makes you think that? The question you asked and for which I offered a plausible answer was: "What gives Vang the right to fire a warning shot." It's right there in italics at the head of my post. If I had a gun and were being approached by an unfriendly crowd , I might try a warning shot to get them to back off. I think that's reasonable. A pack of men does not need to be armed to do me serious harm.
