The Americans gave the Nationalists millions of dollars and armed them with modern weapons and military equipment in the 1940's. And they eventually almost all fell into the hands of the Communists and in turn they used the American weapons to drive the Nationalists off the mainland to the tiny island now called Taiwan. What an irony that the bullets that went into the bodies of the nationalists were all made in the USA. I am afraid your suggestion may not sound very exciting to the people in Taiwan. So, why should you bother? If you ask any Taiwan resident, they will tell you your suggestion to arm them with nukes sound like a disease.
