Re: Republican students were complaining because they usually got shouted down on campuses when they tried to get the Republican message out.

The thing is the Republicans almost seem the enemy of intelligent thought.

What do mean "almost"? Republican youth are profoundly anti-intellectual. They are excellent regurgitators of canned "talking points", but when it comes to actual analysis and historical depth, they are in the shallow end of the pool.

Furthermore, they are completely untrustworthy. The ridiculous buffoon Tucker Carlson is a good case in point about the younger generation. Al Franken had a really telling anecdote in his book, "Lies, and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them". Carlson is one of these liars. When he was caught out by Franken in a lie at some posh affair, Franken confronted Carlson in person. Carlson's reaction was not to immediately want to correct the record, but to wonder if he'd gotten away with it with less sophisticated audience members. Brazen hussy is the term that comes to mind when I think of Young Republicans.
