the US bowed many times to Arab, Russian and European pressure there was no question of fear. Same thing in 1973 - Israel then received an ultimatum from the US not to destroy the Egyptian and Syrian armies even that they were encircled and all was prepared for their destruction as the US later did in Desert Storm to Iraq army retreating from Kuwait Same in Lebanon war and the expulsion of the Arafat and the terrorist organizations and in other instances when there was a clear chance to win hands down the US and Europeans intervened and stopped the move
