lol. I never experienced pigs feet except to see them in jars in little stores here. But, in SF, one of my first friends was a Spanish/Phillipino girl who lived with her Phillipino grandfather. He fished in the bay and would serve us up cold rice and fish for dinner. She took me to a wedding feast where there was this big tub and you spooned out a cold fish with its head still on. She looked at me with that look, ya know? So I, with a smile, took a dead fish with head and looked happy. Coming from a possum holler, what could I say? :)

But when her grandfather presented us with a crab was the worst. He'd caught it himself and quite proudly gave it to us to cook for our dinner. We were both clueless but he told us to cook it in boiling water. It was still alive at the time. So... we put on a pot of water, turned on the heat, put in the crab and.... well, it wasn't pretty. I really wish he'd told us not-bright-young-things to bring the water to a boil first. That is reason to turn vegan. :)
