Culture is but a snapshot in time --- it's constantly changing.

What do you think the Christian church's official policy was towards 'non-believers' during the crusades, or Jews well into the Enlightenment? Or, even well into the Victorian Age, in it's treatment (slaughter, oft times) of native peoples around the world?

"Kill the disbelievers wherever we find them." (2:191)

As I pointed out in my earlier post: much of the Koran is so poorly translated from the original sources as to be practically incomprehensible, and many times wildly at variance to the original language. Much of modern Biblical texts are corrupted in similar ways --- but with the Bible we have had the benefit of about a hundred year's of scholarship into the original sources that has yet to been performed with the Koran, so in that regard we are further along in understanding it....
