<<The urchins in my salt tank are quite upset at learning of this, as they have always believed that the spines which routinely stab me make them invulnerable.>>

I remember breaking the shells of the dead for the dove inside.

Gosh, that was funny.

But it made me feel terrible about eating your urchins' relatives. You really shouldn't have told them. Especially on a holiday.
But maybe the chef lied. It was very difficult to tell what we were eating. They were tiny brown fishy smears in the bottom of a shell, drowned in a butter sauce. Kind of anchovylike.

The best course was a tempura like prawn with an incredible dip. The one dish that sounded icky but I loved was a plate of paper thin beet and aged comté (a cheese) slices with some sort of dressing.
The course that I left on my plate was the sweetbreads. I just couldn't do it.

We actually had waiters at each course who stood by and lifted the little silver domes off each plate at exactly the same time. You felt you should applaud. But after ten courses, you just found yourself sighing and thinking, oh god, I hope this is the end. Five hours is a long time to eat.
I started thinking maybe they should do like at winetastings-- have little spit buckets next to our chairs.

Here is a good link
or
You probably already know this one.

If you don't you might like it. It takes a little getting used to, it is a slow paced place running on Daily FAQ's. Huge database of information on every type of marine set-up, freshwater and salt.

wetwebmedia.com

The moderator is interestingly enough named bob, Dr. Bob Fenner. I really enjoy visiting his site and thought you might like it as well. It has helped with the Family Stone's freshwater aquarium which has seven inhabitants.

edit, 4 inhabitants, Pickles, the frog, escaped while the top was being repaired, we haven't even found the body and we have had two of the little neon guys go belly up.
