Why isn't Gold analyzed differently?

David, that's a very good question. I remember reading someone a few years ago who said gold will be a dollar play for a while. Once the dollar really starts tanking and other economies head for the throne on which all men sit equal (because the US consumes a disproportionate share of the world's output) and all governments start debasing their currencies, will gold start rising in all currencies.

This makes a lot of sense. Maybe we're getting close?

<Well, the point is that in Euro and Canada and other countries gold's performance has been uninspiring.>

I thought the point was $CD value commentary... but I forget.

< I think we need to look at gold differently, in a way that measures performance outside the USD,>

Agreed, but if I"m not mistaken, Gold was in a couple year Global bull market when the dollar was strong and it wasn't up in $US terms... there must be commentary on a global basis somewhere, I know Heinz used to talk about it all the time.
