Marcos,

It was thanks to the Bush administration Commerzwaffe that 'Canada as a whole didn't gain shit' out of this building cycle - we were up against 27% tariffs, that's an uphill battle, considerably more than the profit margin directly confiscated by the bushistas ..... but look, oh joy, just this morning there is indication that they see the error of their ways [at least enough to change one bit of verbal posturing, so far] -

news.bbc.co.uk

Do you really expect Bush and congress to cow-tow to a rag tag collection of 3rd world wanna be nations banded together under the EU and WTO? I expect a focussed retaliation on a country by country basis. This will be done politically in the name of protecting American workers and "standing up for America".

<Actually, believe it or not, it is .... partly the same phenomenon as hank says is in Montana, the absolutist anti-forestry types who would prefer to see the bug-kill dry up and explode one fine summer's day ....>

Well, I'm not for that.... however the little we understand about the way nature works, for all we know THAT is exactly what is supposed to happen, and the beetle goes away for 5090 years.

NO ONE KNOWS SHIT ABOUT ANY OF THIS!! Now, I don't mind that, and I'm not against logging per say.... but if more people simply admitted the fact that we don't understand nature for shit, we'd all be better off.
