Hix Nix Macedonian Pix Roger L Simon Posse Incitatus has an amusing post comparing the pathetic grosses of Oliver Stone's Alexander the Great - the victim, according to its makers, of rampant homophobia - to the success twelve years ago of The Crying Game, whose homosexual theme was considerably more overt. To be fair Stone is not the first Hollywood satrap to blame his artistic failure on supposed audience resistance to his subject matter. This is one of the oldest Movieland "crying" games. For years everyone was saying the public couldn't stand baseball movies -studios wouldn't make them. Then along comes Bull Durham.
