After the defeat you see a certain run-off from the offending mouths. The serious minds keep silent and watch the rubble churn for a while. I still believe the Democrat party will dump the anti-American left and survive. But 2006 will still be a disaster for them. Another populist cycle is not due for at least a decade (it usually takes 20 years for the stink of the last one to be forgotten), so the Dems' reform (if any) will be accelerated...
