Flu mist has the same three virus as in the killed vaccine. This year's human flu shot is better than most years because it has Fujian (for the first time) and so far this year all H3N2 subtypes have been Fujian, so this year's shot will help with human flu.

The other influenza A is H1N1, so antibodies against the N1 could help against H5N1 (they both have N1, although they are not all that close).

If the pandemic strain picks up part of H1 or H3, then the human flu shot could help on the H side also. I would say that a human shot is better than none. At this time no one has a pandemic flu shot.
