Ray, it is easy to look for the dark selfish ends that some men have gone to out of greed and pride. There are those men and women who you probably have never heard of who were burnt at the stake and eaten by lions, rather than to recant their beliefs. These are the ones I am talking about. Like St. Paul of Tarsus, Moses, Charles Haddon Spurgeon and the thousands of others who don't enjoy reading the the satanic press that you read.

I am not a Puritan but enjoy their prayers and meditations when I need strength. This is a paragraph out of one.

"O God, it is amazing that men can talk so much about man's creaturely power and goodness, when, if thou did not hold us back every moment, we should be devils incarnate.
This, by bitter experience, thou has taught me concerning myself."

Here is another called The Valley of Vision.

"THou hast brought me to the valley of vision, where I live in the depths but see thee in the heights; hemmed in by mountains of sin I behold thy glory.

Let me learn by paradox that the way down is the way up.
that to be low is to be high,
that the broken heart is the healed heart,
that the contrite spirit is the rejoicing spirit,
that the repenting soul is the victorious soul,
that to have nothing is to possess all,
that to bear the cross is to wear the crown,
that to give is to receive,
that the valley is the place of vision."
and so on.

Ray, there is no need to condemn a whole philosophy of life and to try to make the messenger a fool. Just because you do not subscribe to it or have had a bitter experience is no reason to condemn those who do have honest motives. I was not born yesterday and know that man will try to use good to profit. This is nothing new Ray. Although you try to destroy my message by calling me the fool does not make it so Ray.I am not here, like you, to show how smart a fellow I am. I am here in the hope that some betrodden soul may find life out of death in the simple message of Christian fellowship.

Now, Ray, be a good fellow and let me express my opinion. I allow you that right so please allow me mine.

James
