Re: I give up trying to rationalize the outcome based on something other than the arrogant stupidity of the American public.

I took a stroll through downtown last night. Randomly I told people I was running an "instant poll" and asked them if they had heard the news about Ukraine. Two out of fifteen people were even aware that there was news coming from there. And those two hardly understood what was going on. That's the stupidity part.

I did something similar a couple weeks ago and asked some folks if they were following the issue of vote fraud in Ohio and Florida. Moments after chatting up a couple fellows on a smoke break from a yuppie bar I found a pack of about six of these half-drunk Republicans following me down the street yelling out how "Capitalism Trumps Communism". Obviously, I'd pushed a button. Obviously they were threatening me. The funny thing was, I was expressing some concern about the honesty of the elections. But in the Republican mind, being concerned about the truth apparently is something only Communists might care about. What a rabid rabble. And yes, "arrogantly stupid, and damn proud of it!" seems to be their motto.
