If Idi Amin puts together an essay with facts you have heard from other sources, and puts them together in an interesting way, does it matter than Idi Amin did it? Well, it would be pretty amazing if he did, since he is dead, but my point remains, and continues to be, that the way the material was put together was very interesting to me. And I think the point about primitive weapons in the hands of committed savage fighters, is well taken. Do I think they are "freedom fighters" no- I didn't say that. the article didn't say that, nor did I canonize anyone (not that I'll get an apology for the post that made that distortion).

I don't know why people feel so inclined to get so upset, and even (gasp) make things up. I am really quite shocked by the posting here. I hope Faultline returns soon, and that civility and some sense of reason manages to come back with him.

Ukraine is in danger of splitting up. See "blue" regions vs. "orange". Amazing.

Not that amazing. They will be following the Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia examples. The blue region will most probably join mother Russia eventually. Russia will get back its prized Black Sea port, among other things.
