Isn't there an old folk song that predicted this? '....(humming here)...if living were a thing that money could buy, the rich would live and the poor would die...'

Obviously living has always been something that money could buy.

Someone told me a long, long time ago that Safeway stores loved those numnutzes who dragged those heavy bottles of H2O back home. Bottled water, AKA poorly regulated tap water, was by far their highest margin (about 80% which is huge for a grocery store) product.

No matter how often 60 minutes or the like does a story on how that bottled water does not come from a mountain spring but does come from a tap in a concrete shed somewhere, people insist on buying it with no supporting evidence as to its quality or healthfulness.
