I tried.
He is firm, he is committed, I do understand his points.
We never did resolve it but I bet you could really enjoy the conversation.
The problem isn't a lack of predators, on the toad show the birds were eating them and dying, it was awful stuff, it is a lack of natural predators.

I have had a new arrival at my bird feeders. We decided to add a nyjer seed feeder, nothing for three or four weeks but now we get a flock of siskins and a single beautiful American Goldfinch everyday. I think we have a resident population of about, I am not sure 10,000,000 sparrows, maybe 10,000,001

The Illinois River is now infested with Bighead Carp which are filter feeders that reach 100 pounds. Things don't look good for the native fish as these invaders will eat what the newly hatched fish feed on.
