Ed Meese was not real bright. Not that some food kitchens don't serve up a good meal. But you work for it. You stand in line for ages. But "food not bombs" does great soup. I'll never forget the girl who taught me how to eat in SF. She laughed at me a lot. She spent a month with me in Alabama later and we had a blast. Her brain was so fried from LSD and natural insanity. But such a sweetheart. She'd always been in the city and was amazed at life there. She'd get on her hands and knees and follow a colorful bug around (getting at the bioligist bug person in you). And when we'd drive around, she'd roll down the window and moo at the cows. There's just not a place for some people in this world. But before Reagan, at least in CA there were warm beds and meals. "There but for the grace of God go I". When I really get into it with my Dad, I threaten to make him live on 5 bucks an hour in SF. lol. So far, he has not taken me up on that. :)
