I think that since all parties true interest is a stable and unified iraq, even the syrians and the iranians may be ok with that.

Disagree.

The Syrians and the Iranians absolutely, positively do not want to see a relatively violence-free, democratic and developing Iraq on their borders. Nothing is as destabilizing to totalitarian regimes than freedom and democracy.
