It's fine to say whatever you want here about public figures, E. Just don't tell someone they're an idiot or whatever for supporting a specific public figure, for example. It's fine to call the public figure an idiot. I don't care!

This is all getting extremely weird (comment not directed at you, E). All I am trying to do is get this thread to a place where people of all stripes and persuasions can feel reasonably comfortable that they won't be ambushed or ridiculed or sliced to ribbons. I think that's reasonable. Anyone who wants a more intense experience can go get their fix on one of the rough and tumble threads and then come back when they want to be a little bit more mellow.

I think everyone here is mature enough to express their opinions without destroying anyone else. From what I can tell, the majority of posters are attorneys, writers, and other highly educated or naturally brilliant people who I bet know how to conduct themselves in their everyday lives. Why is it so hard to do that at Feelies?
