So colonialism or imperialism is the answer?

Have a look back in history and see how well things turned out when the colonial power eventually retreated... (not to mention some of the "conquests" were rather bloody)

I am not talking about strict "isolationism", but rather just quit trying to dictate the affairs of regions of the world we have no business being involved in, unless of course they are a direct and clear threat to our national security.
