Hi Nadine,
100 million arabs with untold wealth from oil are unable to create a political or economic system that is fair to its people. They have tried monarchy, tyranny, islamofacism among others and nothing works. But they apparently have their toadys in the west who buy into the belief that rich jews from europe and america have occupied their land. These rich jews arrived in rags and built a country. US aid had more to do with the cost of defense against 100 million declared enemies. Reminds me in a way of the pre-civil war american south where the southern landed aristocracy played off poor whites and indentured servants against the african slaves. If you can scapegoat effectively you can rule forever by pitting those you exploit against those you wish to enslave. The same game continues today from palestine to tehran to bagdad. I am back to 50/50 positive outcome on the elections and i only half believe that bush will wise up if elections fail and take the opposite path of the last native president from texas, Lyndon Baines Johnson. If we cant get it right quickly, we need to get out even if iraq breaks apart and there is civil war in the sunni area and even if we are universally blamed for that outcome. Iraqi may just have to have this civil war. It is stupid to try to prevent the inevitable while destroying what could be a better second term. Mike
