<Clearly barbarism was reached long ago> The number will remain -- as with so many of things of this sort -- impossible to know with precision. Just as there are many who find it impossible to believe that our actions caused the death of millions of Vietnamese civilians in the Vietnam war, the denial of our responsibility for so many tens of thousands of civilian deaths in Iraq will be subject to repeated denials.
