Our friend Quin Hillyer points out:
Kathryn -- I thought readers of The Corner might find this interesting/maddening/amusing. Note the differences between how AP introduces the nominee for Commerce vs. how the NYT does. Here's the AP:

"WASHINGTON (AP) - President Bush on Monday chose Carlos Gutierrez, a native of Cuba who rose from truck driver to chief executive officer of Kellogg Co., to be secretary of Commerce. "

Here's the Times, or at least what goes out to the Times News Service:

"BUSH FILLS FOURTH SLOT IN SECOND TERM CABINET

WASHINGTON - President Bush on Monday named multimillionaire Carlos Gutierrez, the Cuba-born head of the $9 billion-a-year Kellogg cereal company, to join his 15-member Cabinet as secretary of commerce in a continued shake up for the second term.

" Bush announced the selection of the 51-year-old corporate executive..."

Wait, aren't these these the same folks the Democrats are supposed to be the champions of?

The "evidence" that Mehlman is gay apparently consists of the fact that he is 38 years old and unmarried.

I'd say that would make him happier than most of us....<g> So he is "gay".....<VBG>

Ken Mehlman ---Of course, the Democrats will try to smear him. He is bright, and very very capable....anyone who listens to him for long will see the Democrats see him as a definite threat.

But then again, the Democrats aren't showing any bright sparks...look at the smear attempts they are showing to Condi Rice, and to the other "minority" candidates GWB has just announced.

Says much more about the Dems than they know. And that isn't a good thing.
