Oh for sure, those who get a lot of satisfaction from their work don't spend a lot of time shopping.

But I've noticed it's usually the people, whether rich or poor, that don't work that tend to acquire a lot of stuff - maybe because it's their past-time.

It's the spouse who stays home while the other is off doing the great job that sucks up all their time but makes a pile who winds up acquiring the load of crap people fill up their houses. Women suffer from this compulsive shopping disease far more than men although I've met plenty of guys who couldn't control their impulses to acquire expensive cars and stereos.
