OT re smallpox.

The smallpox issue is why I 'm holding some SIGA shares.
It's working on a smallpox drug and is slated for
bioterror funds. It's actually presenting at some
conference today.

I'm no expert and not really the person to talk about the issue with any degree of knowledge. That said, it has been suggested that Smallpox could be an effective biological weapon against the US or any other country for that matter. We haven't immunized against smallpox since the early 70's (I think) and there are questions surrounding how much good those immunizations will do anyhow some 30 years later. The other concern is that its been a lab disease in many countries for a very long time which raises questions about whether or not it could have been tweaked for biological use. Theoretically it would only take 1 infected person going through our airport system to potentially create a serious problem.

It's just a theory thats been talked about....but a scary one.
