The figures are from the PA and the UN, Noel. One cannot of course assume 500,000 women of children-bearing age out of a population of 1,000,000. About half this population would be children, and about half the women would be past child bearing, so a more reasonable starting guess for the women of child bearing years would be 125,000, not 500,000. Nonetheless, if you look at population figures figures from 1948 to now, you can see that the Palestinians have one of the highest birthrates in the world. Of course, as I said, some of it doubtless exists only on paper, to get the stipend.
