I thought it was a sunni cleric who gave al quaeda the fatwa they needed. Josef Bedansky, the terror expert, said last nite that he expects a nuke attack on the US or US interests in the near future. He is convinced they have weapon(s). Thus any nuke capablity that al q might now have comes from either pakistan technology, saudi arabia cash, north korean pefidy or a stray russian weapon they aquired (probably with saudi money). If you want to deter a moslem fanatic, perhaps you would target only the places they really care about like mecca medina and the like. Do they (queda and/or iran) value those places or would they not care. Mike

"Al Quaeda has actually consulted with Iranian religious leaders to obtain "permission" to use a nuke against the West....."

I would like to see some proof of this. Sunni al quaeda wouldnt be expected to go to shiaa clerics for this ok.
