My grandmother died of bone cancer when I was 6. That is Grandmother, not Granny. :) I knew little of her except a woman who would only be called Grandmother, and her face lit up when I arrived. this was the early 60's. She was confined to a bed in her home with someone to look after her. Beyond the smile, there was the constant strain of pain in her face. She was Texas Lady to the end. Texas born and Dallas died. Did we not pray hard enough? Or was it her time? That whole God thing goes both ways, imo.

I called my Aunt Jan the other night. Diane's mother. She went on and on about how life was there. And told me she'd never forget my calling. Go figure.

Well, good. Hope your family enjoys it. Lots of material for interesting dinner table discussions.

Ordering it, too.
