You underestimate the U.S.'s ability to project power. Iran is anything but safe if they continue to support the insurgency and continue on the path to a nuclear bomb. We can level Iran with our air power alone. You seem to be keen on indiscriminate killing ....but of course you exagerate too. To defeat a nation with airpower alone is foolish nonsense, unless of course you want to do the unthinkable. Do you ? And btw, what we proved in Iraq is that there was huge fraud and scandal associated with the U.N. oil for food program. Well, I feel so much better.
