" Only an idiot would not see the answer "..

I consider that an insult to both me and my belief in seeking the truth before condemnation.

But that argument,as shallow and baseless as it is,does not address the " Arafat Was a thief from his own people " mantra I've been reading everywhere since his death.

Such as this ( That was circulated far and wide ):

www.freeman.org/m_online/oct03/investments.htm

Note " But while Arafat has never used such funds for a personally luxurious lifestyle ", but still calls it theft.

And this :

christianactionforisrael.org/isreport/march01/strategy.html

" The PA is a corrupt, warmongering dictatorship whose economy has been ravaged by a terrorist war it started last year and prosecutes to this day. Israel can hardly be faulted for building walls between itself and this banana would-be republic. For the PA's economic woes, Mr. Arafat has no one to blame but himself. "

All governments invest money on behalf of the people. It is the government's decision on how, when and where the money is both invested and divested, and few will FULLY disclose!

By your argument, any government of any country that invests money is stealing from the people, instead of just handing out the money at will as they get it.

So...Arafat MAY have been hiding money for his own purpose,BUT...there is absolutely NO evidence that he ever HID money for his own purpose, or STOLE money for his own purpose.

Did he invest money to further his cause?

Absolutely.

Try looking at it from business perspective.
