It is important to adhere to traditions, eh? When the U.S. cooked up the Marshall Plan for the recovery of Europe after WW II it was sold as a gift from the American people to the poor wretched masses of Europe. What it actually was was a transfer of the U.S. taxpayers dollars to U.S. corporations selling goods in Europe at inflated rates.

Why should we change a winning strategy for the corporations in the face of a mere pandemic?
