Richard Nixon proposed exactly this solution, i.e. a negative income tax, in the early 1970s. It was a profoundly egalitarian suggestion, and one that was anathema to the big business greedheads in the GOP. I do hope that you are reading the planning documents coming out of AEI, PNAC, JINSA, A.L.E.C. and the other organizations that are determining the future. And I do hope you've read the "National Security Strategy of the United States" and "Vision for 20/20"(sp?) by the U.S. Space Command. As well, you need to familiarize yourself with the essential documents (those that you can access) on the military's "Northern Command". Once you've really opened your eyes and gotten into the heart of the beast, you'll see that maintaining your middle class way of life is absolutely not the goal of the powers who control the U.S. government, military and corporations today.
