There is a long way to go before Cisco hurts for real. They are just too entrenched. So I'm not predicting a near term doomsday scenario. In fact, I would predict that Cisco will continue to be a major player for a very long time. It is simply an incredibly well run company.

However, China will take its toll on Cisco's margins. When the price competition gets especially fierce, Cisco will take a look at its San Jose facilities and payscales and lament the fact that they can't squeeze those costs down any further without laying off people their and moving to another part of the U.S. or even offshoring much of that work. It will happen, eventually.
