I really hate to put it this way, but....

Yes, it was a gamble because there was no assurance you would survive and my 200 smackers would be gone. If it weren't for punters like myself perhaps you would have gone down the tubes.

Now I would like you live up to this trust and give your Lifetime members a thank you for putting up the funds to keep your struggling enterprise going way back when.

It wasn't my company back then.

iHub acquired Silicon Investor in May of 2003.

We are giving Grandfathered and Lifetime members a thank you. By having acquired the site to assure its survival, by keeping the features they were accustomed to available to them, and adding new features also available to them.

I took a gamble and went for the Lifetime Membership which was going for $200 bucks or thereabout.

Not to make light of your "gamble", but have you considered the gamble we took in acquiring Silicon Investor and having it bleed our bank account beyond the purchase price for a while? Though it's profitable now, it's barely made a dent in our purchase price.

Now *that* is gambling. :) Especially when a safer gamble would've been to just stick with iHub (much more profitable than SI) and let SI fail and we'd get most of its users without spending any money to get them, and they'd be ponying up for new lifetime or renewable accounts. And that approach was definitely on the table. But I've got a soft spot in my heart (head) for this site.
