Exactly. We don't need to invade and occupy Iran. We only need to destroy all their suspected WMD facilities, destroy their airforce, and anti-aircraft locations. This alone will set their military back a decade. However, the truth is the Iranians and the U.S. have a lot more to gain by the Iranians just deciding to be peaceful. If they would stop seeking a nuclear bomb, stop supporting the Iraqi insurgency, and stop incitement on all their media channels by constantly encouraging death to America/Great Satan speaches, then the Iranians have a trememndous amount to gain. Just think, the Iranians could gain an Iraqi neighbor with a democratically elected Shia majority. They would gain trade deals and maybe even an invitation to the WTO, which would spark their economy and help the Iranian people. And they would come out from the cold of isolation they have been in since the mullah revolution of 1979. But the truth is the Muslims hardliners don't want peace. They want to remain in power, even over the objections of the majority of Iranians who want a reform minded, democratically elected government. And this get me back to my main point. The Middle East is full of petty dictators, despots, and Theocracies. They use religion as a weapon, not as something to help the people with. That is why Islam is so corrupted. Until the moderates start doing something to reign in the crazy path that Islam is going down, they will continue to bring tragedy down on the heads of Muslims the world over.
