I get the sense that part of the idea of merging his old Franco Nevada with NEM was that they "got his services" too. Lassonde is very grassroots development oriented, in fact that's the arrow (lack of reserve replacement) he slings at the industry. I think he was interested in doing his thing with NEM, but I doubt if that's his true love in the long run. He also has a keen sense of when to sell, and when and what to buy. The bargains are in neglected (and often poorly managed) advanced stage juniors, not majors like NEM. I'm sure he will stay involved with NEM, but I'll bet he starts another Franco Nevada like merchant company.
