See, here you've lumped "dictators" and the rest in with what you apparantly consider to be failed governments which offered freedom to people. None of them, IMO, offered freedom to their people even close to what the great American Experiment did. Case closed.

You could say a dictatorship "worked" because it lasted a long time, indeed. But that's not enough if one wants to see which form of government was truly helpful to the common man.
