Sidney's posts were improper. I saw two warnings. Is he still posting improperly? If you, Alan, moderate a thread based on standards of good manners, I dare say your decisions would be different from mine. What is an issue that got someone banned for disagreeing with Grainne on?

I must say I am getting quite sick of your posts challenging my fairness, and will consider them personal attacks unless you stop right now. Might I remind you that on some threads which are moderated, thread heads never give any public reason for banning, ban whoever they want to, and don't really care what anyone feels about it? On the other hand, I tried to set up reasonable rules and enforce them judiciously. Not as any kind of power trip, but because I thought we could have a thread that was a pleasant place to hang out for everyone if there were some minimal rules of acceptable conduct. As I believe I explained to you yesterday, I was several days behind reading the thread, except for emergencies which kept popping up at the thread head. I therefore did not realize how bad Sidney Reilly's posts had become, and have now informed him that I will ban him the next time he violates the thread rules. I was trying to give warnings over the last week because I saw a lot of juvenile behavior that was testing the limits by several male posters, but not really horrendous behavior. I would prefer to educate people rather than ban them. In no way do I justify you being called a fraud. At the same time, you are now whining mightily, and I am very tired of it. I also already answered your assertion that I was favoring liberals and discriminating against conservatives, by reminding you that Sidney was EXTREMELY conservative, far more conservative than you are. He doesn't like George Bush, but aside from that, my perception is that he is so far right on some issues that he may have gone round the bend. I do not discriminate against conservatives, in any event. Now I particularly take exception to this comment of yours: "There is a double standard practiced on this thread and there is a word for that. Hypocrisy." There is no double standard (even though I could have no standards, or capricious standards, if I felt like it). I don't have to justify banning anyone. Do you fully understand that? Now I am going to start banning people who continuously whine and malign me when I am going way beyond any requirement to be fair (since there is none). Am I making myself clear now?
