That he preaches rather than argues, I have no doubt."We all know that Atheists have no investment in considering both sides ". YOU are not WE...and there is no reason why an atheist should not value learning."considering information in anything except a partial and self serving manner. " If an atheist makes his/her living off of preaching atheism, then partiality might be suspected. If you were discussing such an atheist with me, I would certainly grant you that he/she might be distorting and twisting the facts as much as a religious preacher such as that Sproul. But preachers such as Swaggart, Baker, Sproul, and Fallwell (did I spell his name correctly?) are prevented by an Absolutist position from arguing intelligently. They are forced to to "justify" contradictions, absurdities, inanities, brutalities, racism, genocide, and other very inhuman "incidents" and "events"--because they have chosen to champion the absurd, the ridiculous, and the cruel in order to make a living. It does not matter whether or not their belief is sincere in this regard. They MUST try to make THEIR primitive tales appear more plausible than other primitive tales. ALL the preachers of all the thousands of religions MUST preach to the goal of refuting ALL the other primitive tales (apart from their own)...as well as denying scientific fact and basic commonsense. That is a pretty tall order! Anybody pretending to do so is either limited in intelligence, dishonest in character, or PRETENDING!"Close your eyes and maybe the Farmer won't notice you "guarding" the chickens. " I have said repeatedly (and consistently} that my values are freedom (including freedom of religion), individual rights--and rationality and compassion (as contrasted with superstition and religious Racism.) Those are the "chickens" I guard. Why do you insult on that account?
