Yes, I agree, it's a pointless argument. Though I can attest that asking for evidence that you ban for POV or politics or difference of opinion yields zilch.

I think I haven't even heard anyone demanding that someone who hasn't been kicked off be kicked off.

Basically, there's an administrative problem in that your guideline, I'd say, is something like "decent manners." And that's by nature a subjective call. So people get to argue that somebody's manners were worse than somebody else's.

I wonder if anyone claims that they moderate a "good manners" thread and ban as few provocateurs as you have.

It's kind of archaic-feeling even to try to have "manners" be a criterion. But it's a worthwhile effort, imo, and even the arguments have been interesting, to me, in their own way.
