There appears to be a lot of "nudge nudge, wink wink" please don't bring Missile Defense or Nato up again until after we get re-elected going on.

Bush, I think, didn't get the memo.

Prediction: If Missile Defense occupies mind space between now and leading into the next election, the NDP will win a record number of seats. Its going to be like the Free Trade battle - which Turner lost, and Chretien failed to live up to promises - but this time I don't think that Canadians will

a) trust the Conservatives, or
b) trust the Liberals (since they have a sterling track record of not living up to promises)

If Layton just doesnt act too goofy, I bet they win more seats than at their max under Broadbent, perhaps do even better.
